Symposium is being organized within the Year of Russia-France
The annual symposium "Universities of Culture and Arts in the World Educational Process" is a significant international project, bringing together representatives of scientific-educational, cultural and political elites, state, public and business structures of many countries.
The first Symposium took place in Russia ("Universities of Culture and Arts in the World Education Area", Moscow, 2007). The second Symposium took place the Socialist Republic of Vietnam ("Universities of Culture and Arts in the World Education Area: Strategies for the dialogue of cultures" Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, 2008). The third Symposium took place in the Republic of Korea ("UCAWE International Symposium - 2009: new “Silk Way” to culture without limits” Yeongwol, 2009).
At these forums, Universities of culture and arts declared themselves as an international university community, that had become important actors in world integrational educational processes. They represent the "territory of responsibility" for the preservation of distinctive national traditions, cultural-historical memory and ethno-national identity, and as a result - the cultural diversity of the world. However, as a sort of "authorized representatives" of a nation state, on behalf of a national culture, college culture and the arts, growing on the positions of influ yatelnyh participants of globalization processes as subjects of intercultural dialogue.
The main theme of the fourth International Symposium in France: "Cultural variety for the sake of dialogue and development".
Aims and objectives of the symposium
The main objective of the symposium consists of comprehensive scientific understanding and international assessment of processes for preparing a new generation of cultural elites to work in fast-changing social, political, economic, technological and informational realities, reflecting the cultural diversity of the modern world.
Focus of attention of participants of the symposium will be on maintaining the integrity of national territories and cultures, problems of representation and identification of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of peoples, cultures and issues of pedagogy, the problems of developing effective strategies for the preservation of national cultural and educational traditions in a single world and a search of incentives for their productive dialogue.
The participants of the Symposium are facing the following tasks:
- Update the international debate on cultural diversity of the world; assess the progress made by the international community in recognizing the importance of preserving diversity and identity in a globalized cultural space;
- Promote the consolidation of efforts of the international scientific, educational and experts' communities, governmental and nongovernmental organizations, civil society, cultural and political personalities and artistic elite for the joint development of programs and projects aimed at preserving thelinguistic and cultural diversity and enhancing intercultural dialogue;
- Promote the exchange of experiences, as well as the creation and development of national and regional programs to preserve and promote world cultural heritage, including intangible; promote research in this area;
- Promote the liberalization and humanization of international educational space as the basis of socio-cultural upbringing of the individual in terms of intensive integration processes;
